The 54th President of the United States and businessman Donald Trump’s big house called Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida.

Mar-a-Lago means: It is a Spanish word and means "sea to lake".
Mar-a-Lago, which came to the fore with the FBI's raid on August 8, 2022, is Trump's private property and home where he lives with his wife, Melania Trump. The Mar-a-Lago Club, on the other hand, is a resort Trump runs that allows members access to certain amenities.

The full address of Trump's home and resort: is 1100 South Ocean Boulevard, Palm Beach, Florida 33480

He paid $10 million for Mar-a-Lago, a mansion owned by former US President Donald Trump and located in Palm Beach, Florida. That amount is equivalent to $27.5 million today.

It was designated a National Historic Landmark (NHL) in 1980. It is one of the most famous houses in the world, and it was built by Marjorie Merriweather Post, who first bought it to impress her husband E.F. Hutton (who, incidentally, divorced her after he had an affair with another woman). She won’t be happy to learn that Donald Trump has since claimed it as his own.

The Trump estate is located in Palm Beach County, on the barrier island of Palm Beach, between the Atlantic Ocean to the east and Florida’s Intracoastal Waterway to the west.

Former US president Donald Trump spent eight years of his presidency living at this huge mansion, which he then converted into a club. He sometimes visited the Mar-a-Lago Club during his time in office, calling it the “Winter White House” and the “Southern White House.” Since 2019, Trump has designated this property as his primary residence.

Trump’s private estate includes 58 bedrooms, 33 bathrooms, a 29-foot-long pietra dura marble dining table, 12 fireplaces, and three bomb shelters.

This house has also been a member-only club since 1994 when the Trumps took over. They run it like a resort, so it’s more like a hotel than a private home.

FBI Raid on Trump’s Secret Vault, Mar-a-Lago

The Department of Justice is currently investigating former President Trump in two known active investigations. One relates to his effort to overthrow the 2020 presidential election, and the other to the handling of classified documents.

After he departed from the White House in January 2021, Trump moved large volumes of presidential records to Mar-a-Lago. However, storage of such material is subject to the Presidential Records Act. The National Archives arranged for 15 boxes of supplies from Mar-a-Lago to arrive in January 2022. These included documents marked as classified, causing the Department of Justice to restrict any details about their contents. On May 11, 2022, the Justice Department sent a grand jury subpoena requesting additional documents marked confidential. Later, a search warrant requested security footage from the club; FBI agents searched Mar-a-Lago on August 8, 2022.

About Mar-a-Lago

Mar-a-Lago is a resort in Palm Beach, Florida, built from 1924 to 1927 by cereal-company heiress and socialite Marjorie Merriweather Post. Marjorie Merriweather Post hired Marion Sims Wyeth to design Mar-a-Lago and Joseph Urban to create the interior and exterior decorations. And $7 million was spent at that time building this Palm Beach palace; that’s equivalent to $117 million in today’s dollars.

Mar-a-Lago was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1980. In 1985, Donald Trump purchased the estate for $10 million, and he has since invested a total of $35 million in renovations.

The 126-room, 62,500 sqft mansion contains on 21 acres of land a members-only club with guest rooms, a spa, fitness center, swimming pool, ballroom, tennis courts, and other hotel-style amenities. The Mar-a-Lago Club is open to guests and members during the social season. It also features two tennis courts (one lit for night play), an exercise room, and spa services.

As of 2020, membership costs $200,000 per year plus tax. The initiation fee doubled to $200k following Trump’s 2016 election; previously it was $100k. Membership is limited to 500 people at any given time. Members may bring up to two guests at no extra charge. Any additional guests will be charged a fee of $200 per night.

The club is available for weddings; meetings; events such as luncheons or dinners; or other functions including charity events.
